PRIMARY OBJECTIVE

Reporting to the Dist. Dir-PeopleSoft HR & Finance Systems, the Technical Applications Developer-Human Capital Management (HCM)-PT is responsible for the analysis, design, development, installation, testing, documentation, and maintenance of PeopleSoft enterprise application software for the District’s seven colleges and the District Office.  This position also provides technical support of HCM applications in the areas of reporting, problem resolution, system support, or system testing.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

·       Works with appropriate business areas to gather and/or assist with requirements definition.

·       Designs, develops and tests PeopleSoft customizations, enhancements, interfaces and reports.

·       Writes documentation of system designs, code modifications, technical specifications, test plans, and test results.

·       Performs unit and system tests and assists with functional regression testing of developed code.

·       Adheres to OIT Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies and change control procedures.

·       May develop and implement external access to and transactions with other systems using application programming interfaces (API, macros, script/batch interfaces or electronic commerce solutions).

·       Supports user departments in creation of queries and custom reports

·       Assists with PeopleSoft upgrades (patches/fixes, PeopleTools, application, tax/other updates, bundles, and maintenance packs) and documents the changes to facilitate future audits.

·       Responsible for troubleshooting and problem resolution during development, testing, and production support.

·       Meets development schedules and timelines.

·       Adheres to CCC Customer Service Excellence Standards.

·       Performs related duties as assigned.

 

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

Reports To                       Dist Dir-PeopleSoft HR & Finance Systems

Direct Supervision          None

QUALIFICATIONS

·       Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in Management Information Systems, Information Systems, Computer Science or related field.

·       Six to eight years of experience in developing PeopleSoft HCM 9.0 applications including payroll for North America using PeopleTools 8.48 or higher, App Engine, Component Interface, Integration Broker, SQR, SQL (Oracle preferred) is required.

·       Additional experience with   XML Publisher, Workflow, API’s and Unix/Windows operating systems along with experience with the PeopleSoft applications – HCM, Finance and Campus Solutions – preferred.

·       Equivalent combination of training and experience with a history of progressively increasing responsibility and accomplishments in a college or comparable institution is desired.

·       Excellent verbal; and written communication skills required. 

·       Must be able to work well with employees at all levels of the organization and possess the ability to handle all situations with tact and diplomacy.
