Sr Construction Manager - Capital Planning

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Master’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Urban Planning, Construction Project Management or a related field preferred supplemented by ten years of professional experience in architecture, planning, engineering, and construction management. A combination of educational and professional experience may be taken into consideration at the discretion of management.

2. Must possess thorough knowledge related to building code requirements, construction methodologies and practices, and construction contract administration.

3. Must be able to prepare preliminary designs, working drawings, and specifications for new construction work or for remodeling projects.

4. Excellent writing and verbal communication necessary. Must be able to engage in public speaking activities.

5. Must be self-directed and innovative, able to assess current operations to move the District closer to meeting the Key Performance Indicators. Must be able to meet deadlines in a timely manner.

6. Must be able to work well with employees at all levels of the organization, in addition to students of the City Colleges. Proven experience in managing and directing a diversified work staff. Must be able to handle all situations with tact, persuasiveness, and diplomacy.

7. Advanced software skills, specifically MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Database and Project Management software experience preferred.

8. Must be able to travel around the City to the various Colleges and Satellite Campuses in an efficient and timely manner.
