PUBLIC PASSENGER CHAUFFEUR PROGRAM LECTURER

Olive-Harvey College is seeking an experienced Taxi and/or Limousine Driver to teach our Public Passenger Chauffeur course.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Demonstrate excellence in teaching, commitment to integrating new technologies in the learning process, and the ability to inspire, motivate, and empower students to succeed.
  • Conduct theoretical and technical training classes for public passenger vehicles, providing theory, simulation and practical applications for classes in Public Passenger Chauffeur Training.  
  • Use established training materials to present formal class training exercises and lab work to students.  Provides training in policy, procedures in compliance with all local, state and federal rules, regulations and laws.  
  • Provide theoretical and technical training in Pubic Passenger Chauffeur Training (Taxi and Limousine) including transporting passengers with disabilities.
  • Use established training materials to present training exercises and practice in preparing students to safely operate a taxi cab and/or limousine. 
  • Provide training in accordance with Public Passenger regulations required to meet and or exceed requirements needed to successfully pass the Public Passenger Chauffeur Certification Examination.
  • Prepare and maintain student documentation as well as provide student evaluation performance.  
  • Assist Program Director and Coordinator in operations and training matters as it relates to the overall program.  
  • Provide instructional training in all regulatory compliance as it relates to Public Passenger Chauffeur vehicles and operators.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Hold a valid Illinois Driver’s License.  Previous experience as a Taxicab and/or Limousine Driver preferred, but will accept previous teaching/training experience.  
  • Minimum of 4 years of Taxicab and/or Limousine driving experience.  
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred but will accept a combination of education and prior experience.
  • Good Driving Record.
  • Good computer skills and have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Excellent ability to work with students and must be able to handle all situations with tact, persuasiveness and diplomacy.
