PROJECT COORDINATOR-UNION (GRANT FUNDED)
KENNEDY-KING COLLEGE
Kennedy-King College is seeking a Project Coordinator-Union (Grant Funded) for the Weekend Warrior Program. Reporting to an Assigned Administrator, the Project Coordinator-Union (Grant Funded) coordinates, implements, and administers a specific project and/or program for a department within the District. Plans and analyzes assigned projects, establishes schedules and project parameters, and sets procedures to accomplish system objectives involving complex academic, finance, administrative, sales and/or marketing applications. The Weekend Warrior Program operates on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. This initiative aims to reduce violence by providing positive, structured experiences and skill-building opportunities during critical weekend hours. The program specifically serves underserved individuals, particularly those who have previous justice system involvement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Serves the administrative liaison between the College/Office and project participants.
- Establishes schedules and priorities for project activities.
- Plans, assigns, supervises, and reviews activities of subordinate staff.
- Monitors the programs’ operating budget and assists in the annual budget preparation for the fiscal year.
- Designs, implements, and monitors procedures utilized in program evaluation.
- Develops and secures commitment from other departments within the District and external agencies to provide services to program participants.
- Gathers information for grant proposals and prepares grant applications.
- Oversees the preparation of project status reports; prepares financial and narrative reports and program applications; details the progress, status, and effectiveness of the program.
- Manages and administers special projects to ensure that participating agencies or college departments comply with terms and conditions of program activities.
- Provides technical assistance or support for activities not covered by specific procedures.
- Serves as a liaison to outside agencies to ensure compliance with programs, policies, and guidelines.
- Adheres to CCC Customer Service Excellence standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Public or Business Administration, Social Science, or Planning supplemented by five years of administrative experience with two years in a supervisory capacity, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Education, Psychology, or related Social Science preferred.
- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
- Must have thorough knowledge of public service programs, grant management, program planning, monitoring theories and methodologies.
- Must have the ability to develop grant applications and program budgets; coordinate and implement programs and policies; and prepare status reports effectively for the District.
- Must have the ability to supervise and evaluate the work of subordinate staff.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be computer literate and familiar with a variety of software programs.
- Must be self-directed and innovative, able to assess current operations in an effort to improve the future goals of the District and must be able to meet deadlines in a timely manner.
- This position requires weekend hours including (Friday through Sunday) to engage directly with participants on campus.
The salary range is $67,520 - $74,272 stated by Local 1600 Profession Grade 8. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as other factors such as internal equity.
