PRIMARY OBJECTIVE
Reporting to the Associate Vice Chancellor of Instructional Quality and Innovation or designee, the Manager – Educational Technology Strategy provides strategic leadership, vision and management in the identification and deployment of new and emerging technology to enhance the teaching and learning process, functioning in a key role in implementing learning innovations through district-wide initiatives.
Working in collaboration with faculty, the Office of Instruction, and other stakeholders across the district, the Manager – Educational Technology Strategy champions quality learning design and experience and leads efforts to support and ensure the effective integration of educational technology tools used in teaching face-to-face, hybrid, and online modalities. Performs related duties as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
· Identifies and evaluates opportunities to leverage instructional technologies that improve student learning outcomes, increase access, and foster innovation. Develops and implements strategic plans for adopting new tools and teaching methods in collaboration with academic leadership.
· Designs, facilitates, and evaluates professional development programs that train educators and the college community at large to effectively use instructional technologies to transform teaching and learning.
· Collaborates with both faculty and administration to shape and achieve innovation and transformation goals for the college in Adult Education and credit courses.
· Monitors and analyzes emerging trends in higher education, instructional design, and educational technology. Guides the integration of effective instructional strategies and tools for Adult Education and credit programs.
· Provides quality assurance for the routine uploads and maintenance of instructional materials and content into the Learning Management System for Adult Education courses.
· Participates in various meetings related to educational technology with key stakeholders to communicate needs and concerns of the colleges, identify problems, test alternatives, and develop solutions that meet the goals of the colleges and the district.
· Collaborates with faculty and Adult Educators to provide regular opportunities to share best practices, showcase innovations from their classrooms, and learn from one another..
· Contributes to the district-wide schedule of professional development opportunities available to both on site and remote instructors.
· Works with key stakeholders across the district to significantly advance inclusive excellence in education with the goal of bolstering the full participation of all students, faculty, and staff.
· Represents City Colleges of Chicago within the district as well as in the wider field of educational technology and innovation in the U.S. higher education arena.

QUALIFICATIONS
· Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Instructional Design, Education Technology, Education, or a relevant field of study
· Three years of experience of increasing responsibility and leadership for current and emerging digital technology in higher education, related industries, or non-profit organizations
· Experience supporting faculty teaching in a web enhanced environment
· Experience in identifying, deploying, or managing digital educational technologies and systems
· Experience with learning management systems (Blackboard, Brightspace, Canvas), video production and editing tools (Camtasia, Captivate, QuickTime), simulation software, and digital media
· Proven record of accomplishment in completing technology implementation projects
· Demonstrated collaborative and empathetic leadership skills
· Substantive and demonstrated knowledge of trends in higher education and the educational technology field
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as organizational and planning skills
· Ability to work within a culturally diverse environment.
· Ability to build relationships with employees at all level of the organization.
· Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, respect, and inclusion
· Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
Salary Range $80,717 - $88,300
