ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Provides instruction through classroom theory/lecture, laboratory demonstration and skills practices, and supervised clinical sessions at a designated health care facility such as a nursing home or long-term care facility.
- Provides students with course syllabus including course outline, grading standards, attendance policies, and classroom behavioral expectations.
- Prepares lessons to teach and facilitate student learning to develop basic nursing and cardiopulmonary resuscitation skills using appropriate methods of instruction.
- Maintains student attendance and grading records in compliance with CCC policy and guidelines.
- Constructs exams and assignments to evaluate student learning. Evaluates student progress and provides students with timely feedback.
- Responsible for student evaluation and timely and accurate submission of grades and paperwork related to instruction
- Maintains a purposeful, orderly, safe, and healthy classroom environment.
- Consults with program coordinator to resolve issues
- Performs related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate Degree and the completion of the BNA Instructor Train-the-Trainer course required.
- Bachelor in Nursing or higher, completion of BNA Instructor Train-the-Trainer course preferred.
- Must have valid Registered Professional Nursing Illinois license.
- Two years of experience as a registered nurse (RN).
- Must have experience as a RN in at least one of the following areas: 1. teaching theory in an accredited nurse training program; or 2. providing nursing care, including personal care and activities of daily living, to older adults or chronically ill adults.
- IDPH approved Illinois Evaluator Certification and ability to complete a Department-sponsored Approved Evaluator Workshop refresher course every five years
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS healthcare provider CPR certification preferred.
- Experience with technologies used for Instruction such as Blackboard or D2L.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to communicate with diverse group of staff and students, required
Experience with a diverse, multi-lingual student population is desired, as is a commitment to the open access mission of the community college

Rate of pay for this position is $40/hour.
