PRIMARY OBJECTIVE
Reporting to the Chancellor, the President serves as the chief executive officer of the College, providing visionary, collaborative leadership to advance student success, equity, academic excellence, and workforce relevance. The President ensures the effective integration of academic, fiscal, operational, and enrollment strategies in alignment with the District’s mission, strategic plan and priorities, and community needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
· Provides strategic leadership in achieving the City Colleges 55 For All goal, that 55% of students universally in all groups will complete or transfer within four years.
· Collaborates with District leadership in establishing, monitoring, and communicating the annual metrics for measuring success in achieving Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targets.
· Fully implements the college’s strategic plan, while advancing academic quality, fiscal sustainability, responsible growth, and long-term institutional vitality.
· Serves as an engaged member of the Presidents Council, contributing to district-wide initiatives and fostering collaboration across colleges and District Office.
· Provides strong and energetic leadership focused on student access, learning effectiveness and student success in an environment that embraces diversity.
· Oversees the College’s operations to ensure effectiveness, efficiency, service excellence, fiscal responsibility, and compliance with District policies and regulatory requirements.
· Plans, develops, and implements strategies for resource allocation, grant development, and alternative revenue sources for the District.
· Provides leadership in all personnel matters in accordance with the human resource policies of the District, ensuring compliance with and consistent application of established district-wide policies and objectives, as well as compliance with regulatory agencies.
· Meets and works with community organizations, civic leaders, employers, and other educational institutions, serving as a visible, approachable advocate and ambassador for the College.
· Assists in the development of the College budget, ensuring transparent, data-informed, and mission-aligned allocation of resources.
· Communicates regularly with District leadership on the operations of the College, emerging trends, future goals, and opportunities for innovation and improvement.
· Represents the College and District before the Board of Trustees, elected officials, accreditation bodies, and external stakeholders, effectively advancing the College’s mission and interests.
· Performs other duties as needed.

Direct Supervision Varies by college, including College Vice Presidents and Sr Vice Presidents; Director-Human Resources; College Director-Special Projects and/or Executive Office Manager; other Administrators
Indirect Supervision College Staff
QUALIFICATIONS
· A Master’s degree from an accredited institution is required; an earned Doctorate degree from an accredited institution is preferred.
· A minimum of eight (8) years of senior administrative or teaching experience in higher education, with a proven track record of measurable results in either an academic institution or organization of similar scope and complexity.
· Experience with the unionized workplace and collective bargaining matters
· Demonstrated experience in and commitment to social justice and fostering a diverse, inclusive, and multicultural academic community
· Knowledge of academic programs, accreditation standards and processes, articulation agreements, and the broader higher education landscape.
· Knowledge of urban education issues and the greater Chicago region desirable
· Demonstrated passion for student success, with knowledge of enrollment management strategies that support access, recruitment, retention, completion, and robust student services and co-curricular activities.
· An understanding of the global dimensions of the economy and the role of community colleges in meeting contemporary educational and training needs.
· An understanding of the importance of technology as it relates to innovative instructional techniques, and workforce development needs.
· Demonstrated ability to formulate policy and develop and implement new strategies and procedures which support the mission and the role of the College.
· Proven ability to make meaningful financial decisions, develop financial plans, manage resources, and analyze/interpret financial data. Demonstrated success in budget allocation and creative resource generation.
· Approachable, transparent, and effective communicator with strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to communicate and interact with officials at all levels and to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
· Internal and external leadership with the ability to strengthen and expand innovative collaborations with K-12 systems (including Chicago Public Schools), colleges and universities, businesses, civic organizations, and community partners.
· Ability to motivate teams and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
· Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)

Salary: $222,000
