CURRICULUM SPECIALIST – CLEAN ENERGY (GRANT FUNDED)
OLIVE-HARVEY COLLEGE 
 

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE

Reporting to the Associate Dean (AD) Continuing Education, the Curriculum Specialist -Clean Energy provides instructional leadership and support by coordinating the development and maintenance of Clean Energy program curricula and materials that comply with licensing, accreditation, funder, and industry standards. This position incorporates innovative, student-centered, and active learning teaching strategies and assists the Associate Dean in the implementation of all program models. ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Designs curriculum customized for the Clean Energy programs inclusive of EV automotive, EV infrastructure, Solar installation and industry and EV conversion programs, at CCC in collaboration with program administrators and instructors. 
  • Assists in evaluation and selection of textbooks and other resource materials.
  • Participates in conducting staff development workshops to meet the need to adopt best practices for instruction, as identified by research.
  • Communicates with instructors on a regular basis regarding instruction, training, materials, and any challenges with instruction.
  • Collaborates with administration during the development of new curricula to identify and integrate current trends, ensuring that the content enhances classroom experiences and aligns with industry standards.
  • Provides ongoing support and individual coaching for instructors as needed.
  • Advocates for effective instructional strategies in EV courses.
  • Oversees and participates in the completion of required paperwork, logs, and records, as well as documentation to assess Clean Energy/ EV/Solar certifications and upgrades to the curriculum
  • Participates in center staff meetings, offering information that may be of benefit to other teachers and assistants. May be asked to share information from their own professional development to other staff.
  • Implements staff meetings with classroom staff to discuss curriculum, classroom and center issues, individualization of the curriculum for all Clean Energy/TDL students, addressing student needs, etc.
  • Works with Administration to ensure classroom quality is maintained.
  • Assists in coordinating announcement of TDL events.
  • Participates in any curriculum initiatives being implemented.
  • Required to adhere to CCC Customer Service Excellence standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university in Curriculum, Instruction, Business, Logistics, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, EV, Solar or related field, supplemented by three years of experience in curriculum and program development in Clean Energy, TDL, or related program. Two years EV training and curriculum experience required. 
  • A combination of education and experience may be taken into consideration based on the applicants credentials.
  • A minimum of two years of successful classroom teaching in a EV Infrastructure, Clean Energy or TDL program preferred.
  • Experience in course development preferred.
  • Must be able to lead a team, coach personnel, and manage the classroom environment and requirements.
  • Must be willing to accept supervision and continue professional development in the field in order to improve work performance.
  • Demonstrated communication (written, speaking and electronic), team-building, organization, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.
  • Must be flexible in receiving assignments and adapting to changes in the program. 
  • Must be willing to participate in quality enhancement initiatives.
  • Ability to work well within a culturally diverse environment.
  • Ability to handle all situations with tact and diplomacy
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

    Salary: $69.545 to $73,750.00.



    Offered salary will be determined by the respective collective bargaining agreement and applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities.

Chicago residency is required for all full-time employees within six (6) months of hire.
