COORDINATOR - TESTING CENTER (FULL-TIME)

Truman College is seeking a Coordinator – Testing Center. The Coordinator – Testing Center oversees and coordinates Truman College’s comprehensive student testing and assessment services including admissions placements testing.  Monitors operations and supervises staff at the Testing Center’s two locations to ensure the professional administration of academic and vendor on-line tests to students.
              
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Accountable for the administration of college’s testing services related to admissions, and high school equivalency credentials (e.g. GED®).

·         Monitors the staff of Testing Specialists engaged in proctoring on-line tests.

·         Works with the Associate Dean to create work schedules and makes work assignments for proper coverage of Testing Center during hours of operations to meet student demand and provide quality service.

·         Trains staff on test administration and procedures for the proctoring of specific tests.  Ensure staff obtain and maintain proctor certifications required by testing vendors including Pearson Vue (GED®).

·         Works collaboratively with IT and vendor technical support to troubleshoot problems with computer workstations and vendor testing software. 

·         Serves as Chief Examiner of the GED® testing program, ensuring compliance with protocols and logistical requirements for administering the test.

·         Responds to vendor regarding system problems. 

·         Responds to inquiries regarding test procedures and placement, and resolves complaints regarding Center’s testing services.

·         Prepares monthly reports documenting Center’s activities including tests administered, revenue generated, incidents, and significant events or changes. 

·         Prepares purchase requisitions and orders office and computer supplies.

·         Maintains confidentiality of student test records and other information.

QUALIFICATIONS:

·         Bachelor's Degree required with coursework in education or related subjects such as well as human relations, psychology, etc. plus three years of experience in a student services environment; or Associate’s Degree with coursework in business and human relations, psychology, etc. plus five years of professional experience in student services environment may be acceptable at the discretion of the President.

·         Must be able to carry out duties with minimal direction. Must be able to analyze the needs and problems of students and determine an effective method to resolve them. Must be able to organize and prioritize a dynamic and sometimes stressful workload. Must be able to work independently within changing deadlines.

·         Excellent verbal and written communication required. Ability to clearly communicate semi-complicated information to varied audiences. Must conduct interactions, some of which may be with diverse individuals, in a polite and courteous manner. Ability to interpret various local, state, and federal rules and policies and explain them in an understandable manner to an array of students.

·         Must be able to conduct all business in a professional manner, combined with the ability to perform all duties accurately.

·         Must have demonstrated experience using networked personal computers, in addition to all applicable software.

·         Strong verbal and written communication skills.

·         Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

This position is represented by the Local 1600 Professional Employee Union.

The starting salary for this position is between $61,006.00 and $67,106.60. The offered salary will be determined by the respective collective bargaining agreement and applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities.
