COORDINATOR-TESTING CENTER
WILBUR WRIGHT COLLEGE
Wilbur Wright College, one of the City Colleges of Chicago, seeks a qualified Coordinator-Testing Center to plan, coordinate, and administer various assessment instruments for new, continuing, and/or returning students. This position coordinates the scoring process for all assessment processing and responds to inquiries regarding test procedures from staff and/or students.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinates all of the activities of the assessment center by ensuring the area is properly functioning during operating hours and informing students and interested individuals on the college’s procedures for administering assessment testing, determining assessment testing sites and schedules. Ensures that the assessment center is properly stocked with necessary inventory (tests, office supplies, etc.) and all equipment is functioning properly. Reports or fixes malfunctions, repairs, etc. to equipment. Orders inventory and equipment as necessary. Maintains thorough daily, weekly, and semester records/logs concerning the activities of the center. Informs Dean of any problems within applicable time frame.
- Determines and schedules staff members to administer and proctor tests. Provides direction to staff when problems arise with testing or protocol. Provides back-up in administering and proctoring tests as necessary. Maintains personnel activities of staff (recording hours, pay, etc.).
- Ensures that all tests are properly secured and monitored at all times. Processes (scans) tests through computerized scoring system to determine their results. Explains test results to staff and/or students as necessary. Prepares statistical and narrative reports on test results.
- Assists students in completing the necessary documents to take the tests.
- Creates brochures, memos, and/or other instructional information to promote the services offered by the Center.
- Investigates and responds to assessment testing questions, requests, and problems from students and faculty via in person, phone or mail. Provides students with answers and strategies to resolve issues.
- Represents the Assessment Center at various meetings held by various parties (internal or external).
- Performs other duties as assigned and within the expectations of the classification.
- Adheres to customer service excellence standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree required with coursework in education or related subjects such as human relations, psychology, etc. plus three years of experience in a student services environment; or Associate’s Degree with coursework in business and human relations, psychology, etc. plus five years of professional experience in student services environment may be acceptable at the discretion of the President.
- Must be able to carry out duties with minimal direction. Must be able to analyze the needs and problems of students and determine an effective method to resolve them. Must be able to organize and prioritize a dynamic and sometimes stressful workload. Must be able to work independently within changing deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication required. Ability to clearly communicate semi-complicated information to varied audiences. Must conduct interactions, some of which may be with diverse individuals, in a polite and courteous manner. Ability to interpret various local, state, and federal rules and policies and explain them in an understandable manner to an array of students.
- Must be able to conduct all business in a professional manner, combined with the ability to perform all duties accurately.
- Must have demonstrated experience using networked personal computers in addition to all applicable software.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability and willingness to work some evenings and weekends, as needed.
- Ability and willingness to travel between Wilbur Wright College and Humboldt Park Vocational Education Center, as needed.
SALARY AND BENEFITS
· Salary: $61,001-$67,106.60
· Offered salary will be determined by the respective collective bargaining agreement and applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities.

Chicago residency is required for all full-time employees within six (6) months of hire.
