COORDINATOR, ADVANCED MANUFACTURING LAB PT (GRANT FUNDED)

Richard J. Daley College provides students with industry validated training in Manufacturing Technology and related industries. 

*THIS IS A GRANT FUNDED POSITION WITH THE ANTICIPATED END DATE OF JUNE 30, 2026*

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE

Reporting to a Dean or assigned administrator, the Coordinator-Advanced Manufacturing Lab (Part-Time) ensures lab readiness and works with students in a lab environment to provide hands on demonstration and instruction in Manufacturing/Advanced Manufacturing programs at CCC.

The Coordinator- Advanced Manufacturing Lab (Part-Time) demonstrates, observes, and instructs students practicing learned skills and techniques specific to a Manufacturing program; use and operation of tools and equipment specific to the trade; troubleshooting and maintaining systems or equipment used in the trade; and safety procedures and protocols.  Also oversees the repair and maintenance of lab equipment and tools; maintains proper inventory of supplies; and supports instructors and faculty providing classroom and lab instruction to help meet program needs.  Performs related duties as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

·         Sets-up and prepares lab environment for demonstration and practice of techniques and skills in the operation of various tools and equipment specific to Manufacturing programs.

·         Demonstrates a variety of techniques and processes necessary in a Manufacturing program.

·         Assists Instructors with lab activities to supplement and ensure proper coordination with classroom instruction. 

·         Inspects, organizes, and checks equipment and supplies used during labs to ensure proper operating condition and proper functioning.

·         Maintains inventory records of equipment and supplies; orders supplies; and maintains appropriate inventory levels. 

·         Reports equipment failures or in need of repair to management and takes appropriate steps to ensure safety of students and staff.

·         Provides information to current and prospective students about CCC’s programs in  Advanced Manufacturing.

·         Provides additional laboratory scheduling and assists students during open lab hours for review or practice of laboratory-related aspects.

·         Assists with group tours, recruitment efforts, and prospective student interviews as necessary.

·         Participates in all program and departmental meetings.

·         Performs related duties as required.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

Reports To                          Dean or Assigned Administrator

Direct Supervision         None 

QUALIFICATIONS

·         Industry certification  or equivalent industry training or Associates Degree in a field related to Advanced Manufacturing.

·         Two years of experience in Manufacturing or related industry.

·         Demonstrated expertise in Manufacturing through relevant job experience.

·         Demonstrated knowledge of industry tools, equipment, and best practices specific to Manufacturing

·         Knowledge and ability to demonstrate industry safety procedures and practices specific to Manufacturing

·         Ability to operate and utilize equipment and tools necessary for Manufacturing

·         Ability to effectively present information and convey knowledge and understanding

·         Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

·         Ability to work within a culturally diverse environment

·         Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)

Other information - This position is represented by: Local 1600 CCCTU.

The salary for this position is $19.67-$24.59/hr. Offered salary will be determined by the respective collective bargaining agreement and applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities. Benefits information is found at https://www.ccc.edu/departments/Benefits/
