Continuing Education - Applied Math Instructor

CONTINUING EDUCATION – APPLIED MATH INSTRUCTOR 
TRUMAN COLLEGE 

Truman College Continuing Education is seeking an instructor to teach ACT WorkKeys Applied Math preparation classes. The WorkKeys Applied Math Assessment evaluates a person’s ability to solve practical mathematical problems commonly encountered in the workplace. Primary Responsibilities:

·       Prepare students to take the WorkKeys Applied Mathematics assessment, focusing on the following skills:

o   Basic operations, fractions, percentages, ratios, and interpreting numerical data in real-world scenarios.

o   Applying logical reasoning and problem-solving skills under timed conditions.

·       Fulfill the assigned schedule, maintain accurate student attendance and grade records, maintain a positive instructional environment, and provide opportunities for student evaluation.

·       Adhere to the City Colleges of Chicago code of ethics, board rules, policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

·       Appropriate educational background. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

·       Experience teaching math to a diverse student population. Ability to interact effectively with a variety of demographic groups.

·       Ability to teach in-person and online classes.

·       Familiarity with online testing platforms and environments.

·       Strong communication skills -- written, verbal and platform.
