COMPUTER LAB MANAGER - PART-TIME
CITY COLLEGES OF CHICAGO - TRUMAN COLLEGE
Truman College is seeking a part-time Computer Lab Manager. The position is primarily responsible for supporting students, faculty and staff in the use of computer hardware and software in computer lab settings.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides students, faculty and staff with support for technology in computer labs, and assists with tutoring technology requirements.
- Works with administrative and academic staff to identify, maintain, install and test software applications for the open and instructional computer labs. Coordinates and schedules computer lab software implementation with academic departments.
- Responsible for the protection of physical technology assets; conducts inventory management function for IT assets; secures classrooms and labs containing technical equipment. Performs ongoing equipment refresh; plans, manages and performs maintenance, installation, configuration, and basic troubleshooting of hardware/software in computer labs
- Analyzes, creates and submits incidents for technology related issues to the help desk.
- Trains and schedules computer lab assistants and work-study student employees.
- Assists with other college initiatives, such as, but not limited to, student registration, as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related area supplemented by three to five years of experience in IT, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be able to lead and direct others.
- Experience in the use and support of instructional technology preferred.
- Strong background in computer applications and operating systems, including Windows products.
- Sound verbal and written communication skills.
- Great team player and self-starter.
Additional Information:
Salary Range: $17.48- $24.59 per hour
Offered salary will be determined by the respective collective bargaining agreement and applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities.
