Civic Engagement / Scheduling Intern
KENNEDY – KING COLLEGE
This is an intern position designed for students to gain hands-on experience within the Illinois State Treasurer’s Office. The intern will provide support across two divisions: Civic Engagement and Scheduling.
The Civic Engagement division serves as the public face of the State Treasurer's Office, leading constituent outreach across the entire state of Illinois. Comprised of the Chief Scheduling/Civic Engagement Officer, Deputy Chief of Civic Engagement, Deputy Director of Civic Engagement, and Community Affairs Specialists, this team brings an extraordinary commitment to public service averaging over 1,500 engagements per year. With approximately 75% of their time spent in the field, the division proactively builds relationships, identifies new opportunities to raise public awareness, and represents the Office at events, conferences, and community outreach activities from border to border.
The Scheduling division oversees the State Treasurer's official calendar and coordinates with other divisions in the office to strategize public and internal engagements. Comprised of the Chief Scheduling/Civic Engagement Officer, Director of Scheduling, Executive Aide, Detail Security/Driver, and Senior Advisors, the division has grown significantly to meet the demands of an increasingly active office. The team functions as the primary liaison between the Treasurer's Office, staff, and the public on all scheduling matters — proactively sourcing and strategizing opportunities for the State Treasurer, coordinating surrogates when needed, and ensuring dedicated staffing at every public engagement.
