ALTERNATIVE HIGH SCHOOL - PROJECT STUDENT DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR
OLIVE-HARVEY COLLEGE
Olive-Harvey Middle College is currently seeking a Project Student Development Coordinator. This position is responsible for creating a positive culture for students and staff by serving as a student advocate to address barriers to learning. Plans, implements, and oversees all student and student service related activities.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists the Principal in creating a positive learning environment for achieving educational outcomes.
- Plans, coordinates, and implements all student activities, including career-related fieldtrips and scheduling of guest speakers.
- Coordinates and supervises after school programs, including student enrichment, online credit courses, tutoring, and athletics.
- Implements and enforces the Student Code of Conduct in alignment with Charter School and Chicago Public Schools policies.
- Coordinates the resolution of all student discipline problems in a fair and just manner and maintains accurate records of any action taken.
- Monitors student attendance reports and makes recommendations for the resolution of chronic attendance problems.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Adheres to CCC Customer Service Excellence standards.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s Degree preferred. Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, Sociology or related field supplemented by a minimum of three years of experience working in a high school setting required. Experience working with a diverse population in an alternative high school setting is preferred.
- Requires the ability to resolve conflicts within an existing framework utilizing well developed interpersonal skills.
- Must possess a thorough understanding of organizational and grant guidelines and procedures.
- Must be organized and able to meet deadlines. All work assignments must be compliant with grant guidelines and accurately completed in a timely fashion.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required with the ability to interact effectively with students.
- Must be able to work well within a culturally diverse environment with the ability to handle all situations with tact and diplomacy.
Salary: $61,006 / annual
