ADJUNCT FACULTY – AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGY
KENNEDY KING COLLEGE
Kennedy King College is currently seeking a part-time faculty to teach automotive technology. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in the classroom by developing and using effective teaching strategies that meet students’ diverse needs and engage the student in critical thinking and problem-solving.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Provide instruction during scheduled class time.
Prepare, deliver, and facilitate class lectures and discussions to students on topics related to course objectives and student learning outcomes.
Prepare course materials, including course syllabi; evaluate student work/performance; log student participation (i.e., attendance); and develop assessment instruments to measure student learning and other resources necessary to support classroom instruction, etc.
Compile, administer, and grade examinations; evaluate and grade students' class work, assignments, and papers.
Hold office hours for student conferences and other instructional support needs.
Participate in various department and or college-wide activities or committees.
Complete all mandatory midterm/final grading and active pursuit certifications required by the college
QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate of Applied Science in Auto Technology and 3-4 years of work experience in the field.
ASE certification in G1, A2, A3, and A6.
Teaching experience at the college level preferred.
Excellent verbal and written skills required with the ability to communicate persuasively with tact and diplomacy.
The ability to work in a culturally diverse work environment.
Experience with a diverse, multi-lingual student population desired, as is a commitment to the open access mission of the community college.
Knowledge of Brightspace or similar Learning Management System preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft office applications.
The starting salary for this position is $743.00 - $943.00 per contact hour. The rate paid is in accordance with City Colleges approved salary scale.
